For those interested in the old gear. First pic is stamped Bonaiti(Cassin) Italy. Steel D shaped, 1800kg strength. Second is just stamped 'Germany'. It has a wicked looking thin cross gate brake bar for rappels, that is if you dare trust it. Pic 3 is an old aluminum 'Liberty USA 0' stamped carabiner. Last is a steel one stamped '(CASSIN)Italy' and 'carico minimo ROTTURA KG 1000'. All were given to me back in mid 80's from a German couple who had quit climbing and had some old gear to dispose of. Pretty cool stuff for sure.

In additon, the same people gave me this aluminum 3 step aider, with thin 5mm goldline rope. It is by Salewa, Germany. On each step is stenciled the word 'HOPE'. I'm not sure if this was done post-factory, as the family has a granddaughter named Hope.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
