We are coming back from Zion Sunday morning and would like to climb somewhere around St. George. Looking for easy moderates in the 5.9 and 5.10 range. Will the sandstone be to wet still from the rain?

Anyone have good suggestions.

Black Rocks, its basalt, so no need to worry about wet Sandstone. Lots of short, moderate routes, you can climb quite a few in a short amount of time.

After rain (and in addition to Black Rocks) you have the options of Crawdad Canyon (basalt), Pine Valley (basalt), Shotgun Alley (conglomerate) and several limestone crags scattered about in the Utah Hills area west of town. Pine Valley may be an especially attractive option if the temperatures around St. George are a bit high for your taste.

PS. If you want and if you send me a message in time I could take you guys out for some climbing on Sunday.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
