Translation from Google Translator "The guidelines David Wagoneer, inventor of the aliens, leaving his widow before died were clear: the company to continue with making the aliens would have to be of medium size, would have to continue with the name, the exact same manufacturing philosophy and he performed, including machinery and raw materials. Finally, after 1 ½ years of negotiations, Fixe-Faders has obtained the patent, the machinery and all the knowledge transmitted and begins manufacturing There have been many major brands of both American and European material that have sought a patent for the legendary Alien Cams. But the guidelines that the inventor and manufacturer, David Wagoneer, left his wife before his death were unclear, and all aimed at the spirit of your device is not lost. Thus, to avoid the loss of name and got a more industrial production could be considered less careful, the company proceeded with the patent should be small to medium size, never an industry giant, but with extensive experience in manufacturing workshop High quality. The name should be retained, and the granting of the patent must include machinery and knowledge. Even suppliers of raw materials, carefully selected, should remain the same. In short: Wagoneer that he wanted to continue making exact replicas and perform the same level of reliability and good work he performed. And after eighteen months of negotiations, the former U.S. manufacturing resumes at Barcelona, to achieve company-Faders Fixe patent after considering the widow who was the most suitable plant for this. In fact, the whole machinery moved from Colorado to St. Quirze Besora, and Nadia, the widow of David Wagoneer has been two months in Catalonia teaching all the secrets and tricks of manufacture. From the workshop Fixe-Faders us that is quite manual and craft, which was already known by thousands of users worldwide Alien, who appreciated the constructive excellence of these devices and their effectiveness on the wall. Once past the learning period, and to guarantee the appearance of your device cam by using the same machinery and even the same original raw material, soon will begin manufacturing the end-user. It is expected that the first Alien in September are on sale in the international market. May be purchased in blue, green, yellow, gray and red." |

Hell yes! Best cams in the world are back baby. Hope it pans out... |
It seems the new ownership is as dedicated to exacting attention to detail as the old ownership- Colorado Custom Hardware was based in Laramie, WY, as far as I know. |
Cool! Now we can get aliens at reasonable prices online! |
Hell ya! Maybe now i can stop paying $75 for used cams and get those offsets I have been dreaming of!! I'm glad to hear alien isn't dead. |
Yeah, Matt. I noticed that also. It might be the writer at Barrabes who got it wrong, but who knows. I am going to withhold judgement on Fixe-Finder until I see the finished product. I know that many folks swear by these cams. I just hope that the new ownership resolves the quality issues that CCH had. |

This could be "lost in translation", but still...I thought part of the charm of aliens was not knowing if one was about to spontaneously explode. Regular rock climbing has become dull... |

This could be "lost in translation", but still...It's a press release...I doubt the company engineers are writing these. I'm psyched to see a company I trust as much as Fixe pick up Aliens. The value of those Aliens on EBay just tanked. Why gamble with dodgy old Aliens when you can get new ones from Fixe! |

I bet they'll still sell for a lot, at last for a week or maybe longer. Thinking of selling a few of mine now! |

I fully expect the new production to be at least as good as the best old Aliens ever were. |

So stoked! |
Best news I've heard in a long time! |
Super Topo post on it too... |
yesssssssssssssss! |
This was mentioned in the Supertopo thread, but it was on my mind too when i heard about it. I wonder if the aluminum will actually be 6061-T6 this time around. Per the specs by CCH they were, but according to some tests they were actually softer. So if Fixe does "fix" (haha) this issue, I wonder if the Aliens will be such a big hit when they aren't as sticky... |
Hmmm can't seem to find that news on Fixe-faders website |
Didn't look to close at the pic in the link in the OP, did you Ethan? :-) |
Great news! |
