Looking for place/couch to rent - Long Island/Queens/Brooklyn

Long shot posting this on mountainproject but you never know. Basically I've got 2 months of work in Long Island, but finding accommodation is turning out to be really tricky. Just wondering if any nice climbers out there have a spare room/garage/couch/basement to rent for the summer?

Having spent the last year living with other climbers I'm loath to change (also having spent the last few days looking at apartments where the other roommates list "shopping" as their number one recreational activity).

I can obviously pay rent (up to about $700 month max) and can also cook tasty food, belay and lend climbing gear.
