It looks like it might be good practice for the overhanging crack you know where, NHJohn. The bugs weren't too bad the other weekend when you guys buggered out. I am sure they are now though. I'll head back out soon with a gallon of DEET and try to get a few things clean and ready for when conditions improve.

JS is right: MUCH harder than SR. I've rapped SR and I'm not sure I can still rap RM.

A tidbit of history: as I recall John Tremblay aid-soloed the FA of this thing one day back in the early 80's while waiting for me to show up. And I mean aid-soloed as in he just aided out on the gear (hexes and stuff) without a belay and then down-aided back to the ground after turning the lip. We did it legitimately a while later (like with a belay), I think. I remember sticking our hands and fingers in it and saying, "Yeah, in a decade or so someone will free this thing." JT was nuts, and probably still is. Boldest climber I ever knew. Bordering on genius. Wasn't convinced gravity was real, as I recall...
