Tbol; quite a long mostly trashy hike up to this fine tower. From your topo with I assume refers to the (climber's) left side of Astro Tower approx. 150 ft. right of the rap chimney Nate A and I did the wide crack in boulder shown in your topo ie; easy looking but 5.10 R squeeze chimney to a belay 50 ft. higher.2nd pitch stright up great steep 5.10 minus hand crack and followed that all the way full rope with more 5.9 cracks to summit. No name yet, Nate did this 5 yrs ago this the 2nd ? ascent.

Scott, had you left a fixed wire on the climb you are talking about? I think we did that one too but it was a little bit right of the climb I drew the topo for. The wide crack I depicted in the topo is likely only 5.7 or so, most certainly not 10 R. I think we likely repeated your route and then added (?) this one just left of there. Do you have any pics of Astro Tower? I still want to add it to the MP database.

Tbol within a month i will submit photo of Astro Tower. But you can see Nate and mine route on the left side of photo in Gillet's current RMNP High Peaks. We left no wire except at the rap station on Astro's far and upper left side and the rt we did is only 50 ft or so south from this rap.

Thanks Scott, Perhaps you may want to get together (to climb?) once we have a nice picture and we can talk about the routes up on the tower. I know you had mentioned the estes boys putting some routes up on 1/2 mtn. It would be cool to get the history sorted out and I can make a proper addition to the MP database! (with a complete description of all the routes) Again, thanks for the help!
