Description
Valle Trinidad is the valley that stretches back behind Cerro Trinidad and La Gorilla. It comprises the peaks Trinidad Sur y Central, Cerro Laguna, Cerro Pata de Pato, Cerro Cara de Papa (La Bala), Cerro Casique, and Mini-Frey.
Getting There
From Valle La Junta, hike the Trinidad trail to the base of Trinidad Norte (3hrs). Skirt the base until you see a cairn marking a trail that continues further into the valley. Follow that trail to either the Bivy Boulder (another hour) or to the laguna (hour and a half). USE MAPS IN THE REFUGE TO HELP CLARIFY THE TRAILS. THIS IS NO TOURIST DAY HIKE.
!!!DO NOT CAMP AT THE LAGUNA. THE LAGUNA IS THE MAIN WATER SOURCE FOR THE REFUGE AND CAMPING AT THE LAGUNA WILL CONTAMINATE THE WATER!!!
