Eric Wright leading 4/2/2011 This is the first or second pitch depending on where one starts counting. As, there is so much snow in April, that what is scary slab climbing in the fall is all covered in snow by April.
The belayer Frank Robertson is standing on the huge chockstone low on the route that you can see easily from the parking area. The high temp that day was 60 degrees in Ouray CO.
30 minutes later Frank was hit by a sugar snow avalanche that was enough to fill a small dump truck.
