Painted Wall blog post -- what are some great climbing blog sites?

Hey everyone: I just wrote a piece on a recent Painted Wall experience/benightment and thought I would share. Comments are appreciated.

Also, I've been searching for climbing blogs to link up to mine, and I find that most climbing blogs are from pros and/or are out of date. Any recommendations for some nice prose/ good thought provoking climbing blogs?

A group of climbers all contribute to this blog, so it seems like there is always something new. I've climbed with a couple of these guys, one of which is my brother Dustin. They cover local (tucson, az), national and even a couple international spots. Great writing and lots of photos. Blog has been up for a couple years so there is lots of back posts to keep you busy.

There are a number of great threads on the Black Canyon over on supertopo.com. This one has a ton of great epic stories.

Yours would be a great addition.

The Larry: naw I haven't done the Russian, so can't provide any insight for you, sorry.

YDPL8S: Thanks for the heads up, I'll post this up over on Supertopo!

peace.

@ the Larry, Russian and Southern aretes are similar (rock), but the latter is much more spectacular (wild exposed 5.10 roof cracks!) and also involves more complex route-finding and some run outs. Probably my favorite route that I've ever done. To summarize, if you liked Russian you'll probably love Southern and if you disliked Russian you probably shouldn't do Southern.

@ Luke, that was a great read, thanks! I actually remember thinking it would be kind of cool to sleep on that ledge if only you could figure out how to get the bivy gear up there.

Thanks for sharing Luke - that was great. We had done the Southern the day before you guys. And I was just finishing telling Dave M. the story about our climb when you called to tell him about your adventure. We didn't sleep on it but it was close. We climbed several pitches in the dark and then wandered around in the forest up on the rim in something that started to feel like the beginning of the Blair Witch Project.

That was my biggest day of 2010. I took about 2 months off afterwards to regroup!!

Jeff: Nice, we saw your name on the board. Dave M. is the man! He told me about your adventure I believe, did it involve your partner jumping off the run out pitch? Anyways thanks for the feedback, and hope to meet you someday.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
