Kalymnos, Greece cost

Hello, |
Hotels are reasonable - 30e/night. |
Was there in April 2006, so, I'll give you some prices from that trip, in euro. |
That's awesome. Thanks for the info. |
Brian, I just want to confirm; was the studio 30 total, = 10 per person with the three of you? |
You can probably do it for under $3k, but you'll be pushing it a little. Think about taking a boat from Athens to save on the extra flight, and get out of Athens quick as that place is expensive as hell. You can easily dirtbag your food by going to the local grocery store, which is fully stocked - no need to eat out every night. Definitely try to arrange your room ahead of time and have them pick you up at the dock. The climbing is awesome! |

My wife and i went to kalymnos oct 1-oct 17 2010 and spent less than 5g. Plane tickets were 1100 us from denver to atlanta to athens,we used kayak to book and picked delta airlines.Olympic flies direct to kalymnos for under 200 us.Cab ride from airport to massouri was 20 euro, never rented a scooter we split a 3 day car rental with another couple at 30 euro a day.We planned on staying at panoramitis studios for 20 euro a night but my wife hated it , i thought it was ok a little dumpy but what can you expect for 30 bucks a night in europe. My wife complained mgr dropped the price to 15 euro and offered us a better room but she still didntwant it. We ended up staying at the continental hotel for 30 euro a night. The rooms were smallish but very nice a great pool overlooking the sea and free breakfast. The breakfast buffet also had rolls and lunch meat making it easy and quick in the mornings.Hotel phloxenia? was where we wanted to stay [30 euro free breakfast]but was booked it was super nice and at the base of the grande grotta trail. Our rooms at both places had a fridge and cooktop no tv at panoramitis. We ate out once a day thanks to the hotel breakfast, something to consider.Dinner was running on average 50 euro for four of us with beers apps and higher end dishes.Pastastarted about 5 euro while seafood plates were 9 to 12 euro.Big beers ran 2 to 3 euros mixed vodka drinks were 7 but made 50% booze, yeee haww. A day in athens on the way to kaylmnos cost us 300 bucks and a day trip to turkey was about 150 us dollars .Getting to turkey is cheap about 25$ per person round trip.Bodrum though is a rich port- vacation town expensive if you let it.Overall we could have saved 1000$ if we tried more if we really dirt bagged it.One more thing we went at the start of the off season i think june will be peak so way more expensive.hope this helps |
