Went out on the atv up there last weekend and saw a ton of beautiful blocks ready to be climbed. Anyone know if anything has been established up there yet? I will be back in town dec 19th and will take my pad and shoes and hit some of it.

For us out of towners, where is this located? Near where?

It a little north of Knoxville, TN. Bout 30 minutes or so, really remote stuff, most of the stuff you will need a jeep or atv to get to. Its located mostly in Campbell and Scott Counties. Best access is either through the town of Jacksboro or go to Exit 141 on I-75 and turn right by Perkins Restaurant and follow the road back along the highway to an industrial park where you can park your vehicle if you bring atv to ride, or you can continue along the dirt road into the Wildlife area and just follow trails til you find boulders.

'Boulders' as in 'blocks' don't mean full pitch climbing? Thought it was a cliff line for trad or sport.

For the most part it is boulders. There a few spots that could be bolted, but it will be short stuff, no more than 45 or 50 ft. Also, one of the spots that i found (i'd have to look at a map to give you an exact location), had a couple of beautiful cracks for some trad.

There are a few groups of locals who've done a lot of bouldering there over the last few years.

PM me when you're back in town; I can give a tour of what's been found.
