This is the most striking formation of the area from the end of the fire road. It's entire southwest face, an much of the two adjacent faces are covered by giant horizontal dikes that run like rails across the face of the rock, which is unlike most of the rest of the area's granite.

Getting There Suggest change

Very pleasant less-than 30 minute walk over easy terrain. Visible from the road as you drive in. Look for a cairn for the start of a trail as the approach steepens. you can get to the crag over rock by dozens of approaches from below without disturbing soil or breaking a new trail
