I know this is a long-shot but we were climbing out near the Charit Creek lodge and our dog panicked during the Storms this weekend and ran off in to the woods.
His name is Charly and is light brown/cinnamon colored(see picture). He is small and looks like part fox, part terrier. He is a very friendly little guy and has an orange collar. He doesn't have tags(was going to put them back on but hadn't...ugh!!!). If you see him please call 615-336-6345. If he won't come to you tell him to "sit" or "stay" and he will stop.

I am so happy to announce that Charly the crag dog has been found! We went back to the cliff we were working this week-end and as we descended the slabs we heard a howl. We all thought, thats a dog...then that has to be Charly! Sure enough, our little dog Charly was there on a safe ledge, skinny but hydrated and so happy to see us. He survived 26 days and nights and countless storms and still came back to the last place we were all together. Please have faith that if you ever lose your dog, he/she will go back to the place they last saw you and wait for you to find them. We are in shock and so grateful that even after the rangers said "with all the coyotes, he probably didnt last long" little Charly found a safe place to hang and had faith that we would come back...which we did.

He is now beginning to eat his dry food and doing great! If you lose you dog in the wilderness, don't give up hope! Go back to where you lost him regularly and he will return to you.

that's so great! we had something like that happen with a cat, she ran away and we got rid of all our cat stuff only to get a phone call a month later. she was skinny and still afraid of everything that moved. still have her. murphy the timid little cat.
