West of the Matterhorn. Quite literally, a "stronghold" of Alpine climbing.

Yes, the ridge leads to a summit of the Mont Blanc group, though not the main summit. The ridge is on the border between Italy and France.

The ridge leads to an Aiguille, but not de Bionnassay. It's roughly east of Mont Blanc, instead of west, and barely passes the 4000 m mark. The ridge is a super-classic, rated AD: mostly snow, with a little ice and some rock at the end.
