Les Cinq Ânes (the five donkeys) is a 70m high crag sporting nearly 60 pitches ranging from 4a to stiff 7c.

Many single and/or multi pitch options available.

Fine, steep and outragious positions available on routes springing forth from the lush forest.

Getting There Suggest change

Easiest way may be to take the Sentier des Pêcheurs (the fisherman's trail), then cutting to the right (north) a few switchbacks above the river.

The Sentier des Pêcheurs is located, from the parking area, just past the Friterie restaurant, on the left and descends on steps down towards the river.

Another option would be to take any of the trails down to the river, and, just follow the river on trails upstream until you notice that the really big rocks are coming to an end.

Les Cinq Ânes is located just to the right of Le Mérinos, the most northerly of the really big formations. Le Mérinos is almost directly opposite the Château de Freÿr.
