Shortly before this happened, weren't you telling me to return my helmet? :-)

Now that's a funny line!

I watched the fall - glad you came through OK Eric!

Dude !
All those years of making fun of my helmet...
I know you have a hard head, but seriously, time to go buy one.
The new Black Diamond are so light, you might not even notice.

Hey Paul, the psychic pain of photos of myself wearing a helmet (dorky) would be far worse than the pain I felt banging my head. Just kidding. I will probably wear one at least on this route as I don't want to have a tiny bit of fear while redpointing. This thing is at my absolute limit and I cannot hesitate even a little. Maybe, I should just walk away, that way I will not have to wear a bucket. Nah, rather look like a dork who climbed this route.

I would also rather look like a dork than be a vegetable!

glad to hear that you're gonna cave and use a helmet for this one, eric. i've taken care of a lot of head-injured patients over the years - now i'm so concerned about head injuries that i use a helmet to walk around my house.

I've incurred more head injuries during approaches than I care to (or am able to) remember. Seriously, I have knocked myself out twice while walking to climbs. Both times I ran into trees. I have scars from them. I'm not proud.
The funny part is that both times Jen has found me and asked, "What is WRONG with you?" "I think I hit my head," as the blood runs down...

Boodge: I'd've kept climbing with you if I'd known that all I had to do was hang around to see you run into a tree and knock yourself out. Twice. ;)

I think Eric is pulling the wool over our eyes. I'll believe he's gonna wear a helmet when I actually see this helmet on his head. I'm fairly certain he wasn't wearing one during his runs on the Beaver yesterday, but I also wasn't there ;-)

I hear there's a bounty on a pic of EFR in a helmet.

I also hear there's a bounty on the head of anyone posting a pic of the man wearing one. ^^ Unless it's captioned, "... getting the red point."

Eric, the day you walk away from a route you've latched onto ...
You'll send it, no doubts.

When the beaver bites back. Originally thought this happened because of the left leg behind the rope. Video footage shows that it was more due to a finger lock that popped while high stepping causing me to spin and get the right foot over the rope. Might have to think about a helmet. First head banger in 35 years.
