I wish I'd known that at the time. It would have been a godsend. I prefer Crazy Glue but your point is totally well taken.

I usually have a bottle of super glue in my chalk bag, I have used it for cuts that should have had stitches, it is a must have for me

That is a great idea, having some in a chalk bag or at least nearby, for a quick fix.

They look infected to me. It is good to clean up as best as possible end of day when out for a while to help avoid that.
