The Northern Colorado Climbers Coalition (NC3) has been working with Larimer County Parks and Open Lands for several years to improve the trail system at Horsetooth Reservoir's Rotary Park. The area is one of the most popular bouldering crags in the Fort Collins area and also has a rich history of climbing. Over the years, various trail projects have occurred, but have been unable to keep up with many issues, including social trailing, erosion, user conflicts, and more. Today, Rotary is in desperate need of maintenance and involvement from the climbing community, which is the largest user group for the area.
Working collaboratively with Larimer County, the NC3 has lined up three trail days in September to begin an overhaul of the trail system at Rotary Park in order to make use of the area more sustainable, safe, and friendly for all user groups. We need your help to get the project going. We are looking for people to volunteer a little bit of time to make a big difference. Here are the details:

Who: You and two psyched friends
What: Trail work, Stewardship, having a good time and making a big difference in the future of climbing at Rotary Park
Saturday, September 12th (9am - 2pm)
Saturday, September 19th (9am - 2pm)
Saturday, September 26th (9am - 2pm)
Where: Rotary Park, Horsetooth Reservoir.
Why: To promote and preserve climbing in Northern Colorado for generations to come.
How to Register: Register through the Larimer County website when the registration form becomes live. (We'll send out a link as soon as it is up, and it will also be listed on our website) OR RSVP with

What to Bring: A smile and psych, work gloves if you have them, closed toed shoes, and gear for post trail work pebble pinching.

Also, don't forget that the 2009 Neptune Mountaineering Horsetooth Hang is coming up on Saturday, October 3rd! We're having an '80's lycra revival theme, so it will be tons of fun and a great way to exhibit all the hard work we did at the trail days. Be sure to check it out.
See you all soon!
