Great shot, Brian! And just for folks "from away" this ain't no slab pitch---it pretty much vertical all the way.

Man, this photo is shockingly over-edited. Recompense is classic grey North Conway granite, as is the rest of Cathedral. It can get a little gold on occasion in just the right near-sunset conditions, but this photo is clearly an example of letting the saturation slider get out of control.

It also doesn't highlight the route well at all. Weird decision-making in the editing process.

Must have been the glow from Anne ;) Could be over processed, but the sun looks to be right on the horizon to me.

Man, this photo was taken AT sunrise and the rock in this area does have a warmer tone than other parts of the cliff. Taken with a very wide angle lens to fit in the sunrise and cliff, probably some distortion.

Could I have gone with a cooler white balance when editing the RAW file? Sure, it's always a judgement call. Did I give the photo a small amount of levels/etc editing? Yes. But, I can assure you the photo isn't "shockingly over edited".

That's perfect morning light. Sometimes hard to get a subject on the rock at that hour. Beautiful!

If you look at the humans in the photo, such as skin and clothing color, you can tell that the saturation is pretty close to normal (to me at least, not a professional.)

Brian P takes and shares tons of amazing photos. Shoo's criticism is unwarranted...
