Really? They knew the old man was going to fall off some day and they tried to save it with this? That thing, the old man's face that is, was huge. This looks rather meager. I don't know what else they could have done though. Maybe a few hundred gallons of epoxy or something. Actually, now that I look at it closer, it does look like they used some kind of glue. Crazy.

Yeah there was an extreme amount of glue holding the old man in place, the people who took care of him keep him around for n extra fifty years, so I think they did a fairly good job. Not much more they could have done. It is still weird when you drive through the notch and the face isnt there.
