Too bad it's not a double rainbow.

We went back and summited two weeks ago... maybe I'll come up with some more info and a photo or two, when the weather gets crappy. Thanks, G/G, it was fun to get the shot but the fun ended there, that day.

Great picture. My family has land by Cooke City and I've been staring at Pilot and Index Peaks my whole life. Andrew, Sounds like you had a good assent. Can you tell me if Index has ever been climbed? My family believes this urban legend that no one can climb Index. Google didn't know either. Hoping you can tell me and I'll pass the info along. Thanks! Joan

It is a double rainbow if you look closely.

Also, judging by the center point of the rainbow, it seems that the shadow we see cannot be that of the photographer.

Very nice shot.
