T-wall-- OK to bring my bike??

Im headed down to Chattanooga to climb a little and ride a little with my girlfriend and dog. I wanted to know if it would be un-reasonable to leave my bike on my bike rack (which has lock cores to lock the fork on) and locked to the rack on my car...while climbing for the day?? Ive heard bad things about break ins and as I wanted to do both climbing and riding I really wanted to bring the bike. Any response would be greatly appreciated and any directions to some easier trad for the girl to do would be great as well.
Thanks for your help,
AM

I'm not familiar with the area in question but you could always leave your bike at a service station or business nearby maybe, and have the peace of mind that you seem to be looking for. Have fun.

You really don't want to leave anything of value in the T-Wall parking area. No lock is going to keep your bike from getting stolen if the Chattanooga meth brigade shows up.

As for easier trad for your girlfriend to lead, there's not a lot of easy stuff at T-Wall, but some good possibilities would include:

New Beginnings - 5.5
Plastic Toys - 5.7
Nappy - 5.7
Nutrasweet - 5.7

Any surrounding areas that I could leave my car in and walk to t-wall that would be safer than the parking lot?

You could hike your bike up into the woods a bit and lock it to a tree; as long as you're unobserved this should be fine. I've stashed stuff this way before- so far, so good.

thanks for the help. Looks like were not headed to t-wall as I want to get some riding time in and the uneasiness of leaving my bike on the car while climbing just isnt worth it. Any recommendations on other places to climb surrounding Chattanooga that it wouldn't be too bad to bring my ride?

If climbing retro bolted routes, squeeze jobs, and, generally, routes that don't require bolts is "better", then sure.

Regarding the safe-ness of parking with all manner of outdoor-sports-contraption given for the taking...yeah, it's better. Still, a cable lock is your friend. This is the South, remember.

I ALWAYS leave my windows down and take everything with me when I park at TWall.

You REALLY should find a way to climb there while you're down though. Maybe you could stop at TBA Gym in Chattanooga and lock your bike there, and tell them why. TWall is one of the best single pitch crags on the planet. Figure out a way to go.

Pay no attention to Ben, he thinks bolts are a tool of Islamic terrorism. Though he may change his mind once he climbs at Stone Mountain, hahaha!

Do what Rob or Will said -- take your bike up into the woods, or find a place in town to stash it, maybe even lock it at a willing service station on the way to the Suck Creek turnoff. T-Wall is not to be missed.

Big mistake

Anyway a bike lock will not do any good to deter tweakers. They can actually chew through them very fast. Even those really thick U shaped bike locks. The best way to go about it would be to lock your bike up and leave a bag of meth next to it the same way you leave cookies out for Santa. Appease the gods so to speak.

Even worse, I have a picture of Ben stepping on a bolt to get up a climb. You should be ashamed Ben. I will not relaese this photo until the time is right.
