You did Yokum? My serious respect. What time of a year did you guys do it? Pro as bad as they say?

We attempted it more than once and got way above all three gendarmes but didn't know that to finish you drop towards Leuthold's and climb right up the upper buttress. We had heard you just get on the ridge below the first gendarme and stay on it all the way up.

I think those pics are from Feb '06. It can be in good condition any time between Dec and late Feb but there are only a few days every winter when all the rime is formed up and the temps are low enough that shit isn't flying off.

Pro is to have a partner that will jump off the other side of the ridge when you fall! No it's not nearly as bad as everyone says when conditions are good. Pickets are all the pro you really have, the rime rarely holds screws...

Nice job on that. We've always wanted to do it but, with how fickle the ridge conditions can be, it is difficult to plan this from Minnesota. Thanks for the info.
