I never used hooks there either! Thanks for these pictures of the belay and pitches....nice to see the conditions of things. How many carabiners WERE at that tree belay? I actually never rappelled from there...I don't recall?

That was the strange thing... There weren't any biners, quicklinks, or rap rings on the tree. Just slings! So I guess no one rappels from there... But we did and it worked out just fine. We left a biner and a pretty small quicklink.

Me at start of the actual "hook" traverse (that I used no hooks on) on the 4th pitch of Stratosphere. When the bolt ladder ran out, I used a red Camalot to get to the traverse.
