Celebrate Eldorado 2008 Events

The 16th annual Celebrate Eldorado has a mix of fund raising events this year:

Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 - 7pm
There will be a photo auction at the Reel Rock Film 2008 World Premier at the Boulder Theater

Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008 - 7pm
Next comes the annual party at the Boulder Rock Club. The party will, of course, have beer and a speed climbing competition, but the main attraction is a screening of "the making of The Sharp End" from the Reel Rock Film Premier.

Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 - All Day
Events in the canyon this year consist of of Volunteer Trail Work and Self/Companion Rescue Clinics. Participants are requested to pre-register, but there may also be spaces available on a walk-in basis on Saturday morning. For more info, and to pre-register for trail work or a rescue clinic, please call Eldorado State Park at 303.494.3943.

Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008 - 8am
And finally, the 4th Annual Rattlesnake Ramble Trail Run will take place starting at 8am on Sunday in Eldorado Canyon.

This is one of the biggest events of the year for the Front Range climbing community and I can't wait to see everyone there. Also, is there a place where we can put in input about the day's projects? It would be great if we could do some work to create an actual trail up to the Kloof Alcove.

I recommend the Rattlesnake Ramble on Sunday! It's a rare opportunity to do a trail race near Boulder (the City and County both have banned competitive events of any kind on our Open Space). The atmosphere is fun and low-key, it's an excellent course, a lot of climbers enter this, and it's a benefit for ACE. You can usually show up that morning and enter. Hope to see you there.
