Is there a good bivy site near Arrowhead? I was there once before but didn't find a great one, and the sites near Spearhead etc. are filled up for this weekend.
Anyone?

thanks!

It depends on what you are looking for. We found a good spot on a large flat rock. It offered no protection from a storm, but it was nice and flat for sleeping.

There are a number of large rocks out there. I would not be surprised to learn there is a good bivy below one of them. We had good weather and did not bother to look.

If you don't mind a bivy on the snow, that is also an option.

Park rules limit bivy to just rock and snow.

Here is a link to a photo of the bivy near the base of the North Ridge route. I think it's called the 'Hotel'.

Note this pic is of a Spearhead bivy, not Arrowhead. Nice little spot for sure though.

We looked all over for a different one that I had used previously with no luck.
There is a decent bivy underneath the gully/ramp system that splits the south face. It is pretty easy to spot, and can fit two climbers.

We got down yesterday right before some serious storms. I know some parties were still on the wall when hail moved in. Hope they all faired well!

Thanks everyone!
