Don't forget the other challenging part of route-finding here: just getting here! Where the "trail" swings under Brogan Spire (N of Mini Half Dome) in the lower left-hand corner of the picture, we scrambed through a 5.0-ish chimney/slab combo to avoid having to walk all the way down and around the lower rocks. Then head across the desert and around the big buttress to find the ground-level "cave" and the "alcove" start.

The rap from the summit can be done with either two 60's or one 70m. With one 70m, rap of the chains on the west edge of Brogan, rope will run out just as you reach a sling-able rock (look for the pile of slings). do the last short rap to the ground. One 60m will not reach the sling-able rock.

Route-finding for Dummies. Myself, sometimes being route-finding challenged when I'm at a new rock, I threw this map together after I spent an afternoon here to help others. Granted, you miss out on some of the adventure if you take too close a look at this, but hey, here it is if you want a hand. Thought it would be helpful to point out the two options for the second pitch.
