Sirius.....thanks for going above and beyond. We do a lot of that at our local crags, but posting here is preaching to the choir. The one's that need to hear it aren't listening.

Benjamin misses the point.

I agree that the people who leave trash strewn on ledges and summits are not reading the message here, and if they are they may not give a damn. They're lousy enough as people to leave their shit for others to clean up, after all.

But the point: Everyone has a duty to clean up trash they find on route and around the climbing areas they frequent, regardless of who the rotten bastard is that left the trash.

This proves that some people have bigger hearts and that others are just weak and that the people with weak hearts are always counting on big hearted people to pick up after them (like their parents!).

Thank you for cleaning up! When I climbed the Nose in 1996, that crack was crammed full of garbage which was much nastier than plastic bottles. The crack is quite deep, and you can push garbage down into it. I think that during the subsequent Nose cleanup they spent days cleaning that crack out with a long hooked wire. Please carry all your trash over the top!

Camp 6 - weak to leave trash on a wall, but easy to grab it if you're the next party through. We took everything in the photo, leaving only a few water bottles that had been dated in Sharpie w/in the last two weeks.
