Blindsight - Award-Winning Documentary Film

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Himalayas, Blindsight, an award-winning documentary film, follows the gripping adventure of six Tibetan teenagers who set out to climb the 23,000 foot Lhakpa Ri on the north side of Mount Everest. A dangerous journey soon becomes a seemingly impossible challenge made all the more remarkable by the fact that the teenagers are blind. The resulting 3-week journey is beyond anything any of them could have predicted.

The film has won audience awards for Best Film and Best Documentary at the Berlin, AFI and Palm Spring films festivals. Proceeds will benefit Global Explorers Leading the Way Programs which serve blind and sighted high school and college students as well as Braille without Borders. Producers and cast including Weihenmayer will attend the premiere and pre-movie red carpet event.

Tickets are $25 for the film only and $100 for the red carpet event and film which will feature a talk by Erik Weihenmayer and the opportunity to meet the producers and cast. Tickets available at REI Boulder and Denver Flagship. For more information, visit globalexplorers.org.
