Potential New Flatirons Route via Review Process – Please Comment And Attend Meeting

Please visit the Flatirons Climbing Council website to comment on a potential new route on the West Face of The Slab. Public comments posted to the site do not count as a vote for/against the route. In order to vote we ask you to join us for a meeting to discuss the merits of the route at 7pm on Nov 27 at The Spot Bouldering Gym. Your attendance and vote for/against the route is encouraged and appreciated. Your involvement in the community makes fixed hardware review programs such as this a success…and for that the Flatirons Climbing Council is grateful.

Many thanks to all those who posted comments to the Flatirons Climbing Council website under the two proposed new-routes in the Flatirons, especially to those who offered substantive comments. Keep the comments coming. Join us tomorrow evening (Tuesday, Nov 27, 7pm at The Spot) to discuss these routes and cast your vote.

In addition to the proposed routes we will also discuss the possibility of replacing chopped Flatirons routes. During the free-wheeling bolting that occurred in the 80's when many routes were installed, some were also erased. The City of Boulder's Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) has asked the FCC / FHRC to discuss the issue with / solicit opinions from the climbing community. This idea is in its infancy. If you care to send comments via email, please do so here .

We hope to see plenty of people tomorrow night.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
