I have zero knowledge of what is happening in this photo, but I will assume that anyone who climbs cracks does embrace the notion that one may make the valid claim to have "Led" a route only if they also placed all the gear while leading. Clipping pre-placed gear is one way to climb cracks, but one may not claim a Red Point if they did the climb in this manner. It has been called Pink Pointing when a trad route is done with all the gear already in place. I see gear hanging all over this route. The climber will have pink pointed the route if he leads it with no falls while clipping the fixed gear, and this is good preparation for the actual send when he returns to lead it and place the pro as he requires it on the sharp end...just sayin'...
