Ah, sad to see that it is closed up. Had many adventures in that mine. And its the gateway to the "diving board" rock on the upper ledge. For those unfamiliar with the mine, if you go straight into the main tunnel about 100 feet or so, there is a ladder going straight up - maybe a couple hundred feet. Once up top, there is a short tunnel (a little bit of a climb is involved) to put you back outside on the upper ledge, above the mine entrance. Facing the canyon, diving board is a short walk to the right. The rock juts out over the cliff face, with a slight turn, making it a bit of a precarious place to stand.

We heard about the mine and diving board rock back in 87/88 while attending BYU. a local teen slipped and fell from diving board, causing the local news station to warn its viewers to stay away from the area....which made us want to investigate. Been up there maybe half a dozen times between 1987 and 1990.
