Note I was being belayed by Brad at the top of the notch with the blue rope, and from the bottom of the notch by Bill with the yellow rope. This might have made it so I did not deck on the ledge of the notch but I would still have hit the other wall of the notch if I'd fallen.

Very cool, I always wanted to climb that route. Probably never will at this point, but glad to see you guys are getting after it!

Way to stay cool, Ben. Are you looking at a factor-2 onto the belay or is there some gear in that 50ft 5.10- pitch?

If you blew where he was you'd fall onto a narrow ledge, with a bolt just off of it, or fall down either side of the face. there is a #4 placement above his hands with a commiting stand up move to get to it, then a #5,6 placement on another ledge that sort of protect a step across move.. dicey either way, but not death defying, and closer to easy 5.9 than 5.10.
