No doubt the rope drag at this point was minimal due to the skinny ropes, but wouldn't clipping one rope into each piece of protection have resolved any rope drag issues (assuming the ropes are halves and not twins). Just a thought. Glad Greg's persistence paid off.

Ropes weren't rated that way, and you are correct on the rope drag, but also keep in mind the elongation of one of those ropes is about 10%; making a fall a bit longer. But on the other hand, WHO would fall on critical mixed terrain like this? :)
