Description Suggest change

Goat Rocks offers something a little different than other Humboldt climbing areas. The boulders are comprised of several different types of rock including sandstone, chert and graywacke. Many of the boulders are water polished making for subtle and challenging moves. Technique, rather than power is necessary to solve many of the problems.

Dozens of problems are found scattered in the river bed and most are not named or rated because of changes due to river fluctuations.

A good traverse, sit downs, and jump down problems exist along the base of the Tiger Wall directly across the river.

Getting There Suggest change

Goat Rocks is located along the Van Duzen River about 1.5 miles west of Bridgeville on Hwy 36. There is a large pullout and trail leading to the river. This is also a popular swimming hole(clothing optional)
