Save weight, why carry pesky draws!

Hah, yeah. The problem Clayton is that the route has tons of old junk bolts. If you skipped clipping some of them to save on your draws, you might be looking at a big fall after ripping one or two of them out.

I think that the comment referred more to the clip with lack of nylon than to the fact that all are clipped. The lack of a draw might actually increase the risk of rope damage and/or ripping a bolt. Probably not a huge difference though.

I had already used every last draw, and my ass was so puckered up, all I could think to do put my remaining cams on one biner and use the rest to clip bolts. In hindsight, prolly shoulda built a belay anchor and stopped climbing...
