Description 

One pitch lines between WI2+ and WI4, be careful as the pillars have been known to collapse.

Getting There 

Road distances: 1.3 miles from Jeffersonville closure, 1.7 miles from Stowe closure.
Approached from a snow slope just south of the high point of the road on the east side of the road.

Climbing Season

For the Smugglers Notch Ice climbing area.

Approach up the steep snow slope and belay. The main formation in the middle is WI3+ to 4. Around the corner is a tight gully that's probably WI2+. Both options also have some moderately steep snow. Where the gully widens above there is an obvious good-sized tree you use as an anchor; if climbing the main formation you can top out and cut right over to this same tree. Anyone know of these pitches can be top roped?

In short, no. You need to lead at minimum the grade 2+ to access the trees for top roping. Try out the workout wall for more top rope accessibility.
