Female Climber Wanted

Colonel Mustard wrote:Have you tried meetup groups? Stalk that, like now! Frankly, I think maybe you're focusing too much on finding a fitness buddy you can fuck. Why not find somebody who also has merit other than some narcissistic Peter Pan skillset and who generally loves the outdoors? Failing that, if they're cool with you loving the outdoors and have enough going in their own head/life that you don't feel the need to combine like some two-headed, socially self-isolating version of cerberus from the nether regions of We're a Climbing Couple, How Cute! Hades, that would probably work too. I'm not saying what you're looking for can't be great fun, it just depends on where you ultimately want to be. But who the hell knows that. G'luck!Bwahahaha, bravo dude, that was funny as hell |

Mustard, that would have taken me days to compose! Point for Mustard! |

Ana Tine, I wish I could remember you! If I saw your face I'd probably recognize you but definitely met a lot of people in Colorado when I was there! I am still doing the travel nurse thing :) I'm about to finish a contract in Tucson, Arizona and just got home from this awesome climber party at the Cochise Strongholds called Beanfest (highly recommend checking it out sometime if anyone wants to come climb in Arizona). I'm leaving Tucson in about 3 weeks to head to Bend, Oregon for the summer and can't wait to explore Smith Rock. Also, I may come to Yosemite and meet up with Casey for a day or two before I go up to Oregon ;) |

I checked out this thread because I'm looking for a female climber partner as well, not to date though. That a guy wanted a female climbing partner caught me by surprise. |

Ana Tine, well I'm a female and I'm always in need of more climbing partners if you ever wanted to meet up somewhere cool and go climb! Come fly to Smith Rock and climb with me there. I'll be there til August! Then I'll be heading to New Zealand for most of August (trying to research NZ climbing to see if I can find people to climb with me there). Not sure where I'll be heading after that. But I also love to make blocks of time off in my work schedule so I definitely plan to drive down from Oregon to Yosemite a few times plus maybe I'll fly back to Colorado at some point! I basically need to find partners all over the place or find a partner who can travel with me |

Hi Casey!! I love this post because you DID exactly what i WANTED to do!! Good luck!! :) |
|
Full blown climbing season now! This thread garnering any new attention. Hope you're getting out Casey, may all your wildest and dangerous dreams come true. |

Just throwing this out there to keep the dream alive: I successfully stalked, made contact with, met and ultimately married my perfect match through MP. Delicate process but it can be done. |

so crazy story.... I was on a road trip to my next travel nurse assignment at the beginning of May, so I was driving from Tucson, Arizona to Bend, Oregon. I decided to stop for a day in Yosemite along my way. I met a random guy off Mountain Project and we decided to climb the Nutcracker route. So here I am, climbing up the third pitch, when this climbing trio ends up catching up to me. And then....one of the guys knows my name. I'm all like WTF how do you know me, and then I realize it's Casey Flowe. We had never met in person before but due to this Mountain Project thread we ended up becoming Facebook friends and he recognized me! What are the odds that we were both climbing the same route on the same day and ran into each other like that! Fate must've brought us together haha we ended up climbing together all the way to the top of the route. I was already having one of the most amazing climbing days of my life, completing my very first Yosemite multipitch, then I ran into the infamous Casey Flowe halfway up the route, and as if my day couldn't get any more epic, when I finally got to the top of the route, who do I run into? Oh, just Alex Honnold as he finishes soloing a nearby route. Best climbing day of my life :) |
|
LOVE this!! I got chills reading this post. The universe puts people exactly where they should be!! |

pure awesomeness.... love it. Thanks for the post. |

|
Well as much as I wouldve loved to have checked out the back of Alex Honnold's Sprinter van, I had to get back on the road to head to Bend to start work haha. Casey is super cool, we are friends now thanks to this post! Seems like I'll forever be on the hunt for a climber who has the ability to travel with their job the way I do! But I am really enjoying the flexibility of my solo travel nursing adventures so far :) |
|
I run into other MP.com people all of the time since many of us are in Colorado. Glad you did out in Yosemite! If you ever need lawyers, guns, or money you know where to go. |
|
Casey did you run into Honnold? Where's your pics? |
|
Not the first time I've run into Honnold or other well known climbers. In fact on that day we ran into Jimmy Chin, Beth Rodden and baby, and some other professionals I don't know. I actually do have a pic with Alex somewhere. Ran into Peter Croft and Dave Nettle the other day. I generally just treat professional climbers the same as anyone else (AKA a piece of dirt with shoes). Oops forgot to mention this is one of those insider jokes that like 0.00000000001% of the population will get. Don't be offended. |
