5.9 climber seeks climbing partners

I am a decent 5.9 climber who knows a lot about anchoring. Looking for some budz to get nasty with it at the flatirons

I like your attitude, man. I will say that your post is inviting some serious mockery from some of the douche-ier climbers out there, but I am assuming you knew that already and are emotionally prepared. I am a huge phan so I just thought I'd give a shout and let you know that there are others out here in climber land (but not too many in my experience). Not going to STS9 but have a blast (and save the party favors for AFTER you get down from the First!!). P.S. are you related to the Mahaffeys from Atlanta, i.e. Jon? He was a very close friend of mine...

I always want to hit up climbing before phish shows out there but usually it's pretty obvious, there ain't gonna be no climbing, No love affair, No art to which none compares...

Only successful phish/climbing tripp I did was 5 days in JTree BEFORE Festy8. Tried to do Frenchmans while at the Gorge but people just laughed and then we went swimming down at the river.

Wait didn't STS9 break up? I had tix for a Feb show, that got cancelled due to the band breaking up...

Ha ha now we're gettin' somewhere! Despite Trey's desire not to "be a climber, reachin' for the top," I too have spoken often about pre-show climbing but have only actually done it once- climbed at the Linville Gorge before the Asheville 2009 show (and the next day, but that could barely be called climbing). I AM psyched to try again the Thursday before Halloween this year if anyone is headed down to Vegas and wants to do some pre-show sport ropin'/ Phish sprayin'/ so-yeah-brah'in'. Tyler, you may have started something beautiful here- a Phish Climber's Club? Could it be? Let's here some name ideas! Colonel Forbin's Climbing Phreak Brigade?

i have hit some boulders in boulder canyon between shows at dicks. ill be going to vegas for haloween and hitting the big bend boulders/ moes valley the days before, will be hitting red rocks the second and third of november and hitting Joes valley on the way home.

Tahquitz/Suicide on Thursday between SB and LA, maybe JT sunday after Chula?

Morrison bouldering is a guarantee before any Red Rocks show. Get a pump, walk down the hill for margaritas and just the right amount of Mexican food, hike back up the valley, hit shakedown street, and meet your other group of friends.
