Anyone know how the avy conditions are up on Long's? Specifically the Notch Couloir? Have spring temperatures taken over at all?

Lots of new snow on Lambslide, Broadway, and Notch. Considerable avi hazard for a bit.

Went up there the 29th and 30th to get on martha and we were postholing once we left tree line. Most of it was knee deep but there parts thigh to hip high.

did it look skiable from the summit?

hopefully the winds this weekend won't strip the peaks of snow...although I kinda doubt it.

We tried for Martha on Saturday. There is a ton of snow up there right now. Even above treeline there was over thigh deep snow and the winds were screaming. Went up about a month ago, with much less snow, and at least got way closer to the couloir.

Steve - we were coming down from an attempt on Martha booting it - were you the guys at the ranger station going up with snowshoes on?

LIV- ya we were just bootin it

Here's the best picture I could find of long with all the snow.

the snow isn't super stable yet Anthony- I'd wait a while before considering skiing the n. face, etc.
Notch Couloir would be an avi danger shit- show at the moment plus extreme wallowing.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
