Ground Hog Day
Oct 5, 2024 · Lead. Good to have climbing shoes, somewhat slabby. Great for a beginner trad follow. Walk down to the pines by the pull out to start the approach straight up.

South Arete
Sep 21, 2024 · Lead. Myles and I guided Fred and his friend Joel. Very fun climb! Super mellow, just a rope scramble for most of it with a couple pitches of legitimate climbing. Start from parking lot 0800 Arrive at base of climb 0945 Start climb 1030 Top out 1300 Leave summit 1410 Arrive at base 1530 Arrive at parking lot 1715 - Moderate pace, some traffic jam on the way down, probably an additional 15 minute wait - 2L just an adequate amount of water for a cool dayb - Route is 50/50 in the shade - Approach shoes were completely adequate - Set of cams to, doubles in green, red, purple, light rack of nuts, none used on climb - 8 alpine draws is adequate - Plenty of monolith anchors if swinging leads, cordelette useful for the whales back, otherwise unnecessary, 120cm sling is fine - scramble down to the sandy ledges to a tree, the rap anchors will be just off to the right, slightly above the ledge
