The Coffin
Sep 10, 2024 · Follow. Great route! Definitely felt really hard since I was already pumped and tired from Crescent Crack, direct variation, and Final Link. Lots of fun and bomber finger jams!! Lived up to the hype!! There were difficult sections near the top to place my feet, that was definitely the hardest part for me!

Final Link
Sep 10, 2024 · Follow. This thing was hard to do with a double rack and a #4 and #5, shoes, and backpack… There were some great moves and it felt super good to get in a flow and have friction feet stick! Rees almost took a massive whipper at the like 6th bolt. He ended up grabbing the draw as he slipped, lucky!!!

Crescent Crack Direct Variation
Sep 10, 2024 · Follow. Fun climb! Wild how non-existent the feet are, definitely requires some wild movement. The final mantle move to the anchors was wild also, cool little dyno in there! Great finish to Crescent Crack. Thanks for setting up the top rope Rees!

Crescent Crack
Sep 10, 2024 · Lead / Redpoint. Did the route in two pitches. Rees led the first and I the second! Really neat first pitch and will definitely be back to do it again! First mantle on the first pitch was very hard for me… I did the second pitch placing a 5 and 4 in the crack, ended up bumping the 4 up and eventually placing it up much higher on the route. Great place to reinforce the offwidth technique with some jugs mixed in!

Bushwhack Crack
Aug 13, 2024 · Lead / Onsight. Rees led pitch 1 since I’ve already led it before. I continued on and led the second pitch veering to the right crack up through the trees. The flaring finger crack midway up was a mental crux. Plugged in a 0.5 and 0.4 and then busted out some airy moves. A left foot in crack helped a ton. Put in a nice small alien and then a 0.3 higher up before traversing to the chicken heads. Airy and fun! Glad I was able to send!

Aug 8, 2024 · Lead / Onsight. Really enjoyed the first pitch lead. The slab moves at the beginning felt committing but super rewarding! I also enjoyed the finger cracks through the route and I haven’t placed as many nuts before on a route. Rees lead the next two pitches in one go. To me the last two pitches were ok, but maybe due to being just hard to beat the first pitch and being on lead.

Sep 30, 2023 · Follow. Super interesting climb. Looking up at it, the bottom looks like the crux but it is actually near the middle of the climb when the crack gets narrow. The beginning had great pro and holds. The middle can be a bit sketchy to place pro and it is hard to find places for your feet a lot of times. Overall glad to have done the climb!

Jul 16, 2023 · Lead / Onsight. I second that this is a great first trad lead. There are great feet and hand positions to place gear from. You can place all sizes from 0.2 to 2 causing the leader to plan out where to place and to have the flexibility to place a variety of pieces throughout. My buddy and I climbed the route twice each and placed different pieces in different spots each time. Get after this one!!

Apr 24, 2022 · Lead / Onsight. Great route! Lots of fun / different moves throughout. The top was challenging for me but the whole route protected very well. Used BD 0.3 to 2. You can use a BD 4 to protect about 2/3s of the way up if you want to save some of your smaller cams for the top. Save a 0.3 to protect the last Mantel move. Would definitely do it again next time I am in the area!

Apr 23, 2022 · Follow. Great route! We ended up using two 70m ropes as we were 3 climbers. Ended up having our third not climb up. The rope management was heinous but the second rope was nice for the follower to have a sort of TR lead for the initial traverse.
