Aug 27, 2023 · Lead / Fell/Hung. Amazing climb and one of my favorites ever. Approach from lizard lake meadows took 1.5 hrs from camp to being racked up at the base of talus. We combined pitches 1 and 2, going from the ground below the splitter crack and taking a slightly left trending path over some running water and to the left side of the upside down V-crack at the base of the splitter hand crack, we took this left side and the running water was scary but didn't stop the climbing (the block at the tip of the V was all wet). On P3 we trundled a sketchy block where you start to climb up the crack system, 8-12 ft right of the belay is correct, so you should now see a small crack and a flat top to start climbing up. After the roof on P4 where you are supposed to belay at the mossy right facing corner we wound up belaying at the larger lower ledge with the left facing corner, I found starting from here was fine if you sling a couple runners on the first few pieces getting to the next roof, rope drag is not too bad on P5 although it was a stout 5.9. We also broke up P6 after the hand traverse, make sure to reach back down and place a piece where you mantle to protect the second. I belayed at the start of the finger crack and we had no problem going from there to the top, still making it 7 pitches for us. From the big ledge at the top we scrambled climbers left over loose blocks to the "summit" which was incredible having never been up there. Descent down the creek bed was tiresome but safe.

Aug 25, 2023 · 3 pitches. Lead / Onsight. Awesome climb. Did two dirty and semi loose pitches at about 5.6-5.7 to get to the start from the very bottom. The P1 corner finishes and then you step right to the back of the ledge under the dihedral/corner to start P2. P3 climbed blocks and cracks before moving right on slab and straight up to the bolt following the right facing corner. I downclimbed the mantle then traversed right to the crack, it took small gear and I belayed at the foot ledge above it. The rope drag from that Z was too much to continue as shown in the MP photo. From there I used two ropes to lead the finger crack into the hand traverse and to the top. That pitch was mega, leave the 2s and 3s behind. I exited the hand traverse at the shallow left facing crack and followed the discontinuous cracks and flakes to the top. Belay off solid boulder constrictions about 15' from edge of cliff.

Really fun and sustained but the traverse left to the anchor is a little runout and kind of unnecessary.
