Grew up in Alaska, and inherited a love of mountains and outdoors from my father. Learned to rock climb while going to college in Washington state, started out clipping bolts at North Bend and Fossil Rock. Got into trad climbing relatively quickly, and enjoyed trips to Leavenworth and Squamish. Kept it up after moving back to AK, enjoying the chossy cliffs on the Seward Highway and beautiful if elusive Hatcher Pass. Went to grad school at UNLV and climbed in Red Rocks for two years, along with the occasional road trip to Joshua Tree, Utah, and Colorado.

I'm back in AK now, where the rock climbing isn't as alluring as it used to be, but the mountaineering, ice climbing, mountain biking, and many other pursuits keep my attention!
