More Info
My favorite crags are the Needles and Cochise Stronghold. If you're familiar with those areas then you probably already know what I like, or at least what I learned to climb on. Throw in Seneca, Cannon, and the Gunks for rock; Lake Willoughby and the Kancamagus highway for ice; Yosemite, Zion, and Looking Glass for walls; and the Sierra Nevada for alpine. Those are the places that shaped me.

In 2009, I managed to freeze my feet (lost a toe) which impacted my climbing negatively. I'm back to following 5.11 most of the time, and can lead 5.10 on gear if the climb caters to my strengths (cracks, brute force cruxes, etc.) or fall off a 5.9 if it doesn't (delicate face moves, slabby way above pro, etc.).

If things go smoothly, I can knock out 20-25 pitches a day. If not, maybe 5-10. Now that I'm old, there's less motivation to be bold, but I'll still simul-climb if it makes sense. Mostly I'd like to resume getting out there more often.

In 2017 I moved to Michigan. For the time being it looks like ice is the thing. Road trips to North Carolina, the New, or the Red are not out of the question.
