Description Suggestion

Chimney Rock is a steep, imposing peak along the Cascade Crest in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. As indicated by the summit register, this summit sees roughly one ascent party per year.

One of the later major Snoqualmie peaks to be climbed, it was first ascented in 1930 by a party of three. Rock is generally good, and many approaches also involve easy glacier travel: this results in Chimney Rock being the highest-quality alpine climb in a generally low-elevation area. One could see this as a bridge between the classic summit climbs of the Tooth, Guye and Chair to the committing alpine ascents of the North Cascades, although many NC routes are climbed much more often than this peak. Several routes exist, including the most popular East Face; a few variations on that exist, as well as other exposed class 4 and 5 routes such as the North Face., and other routes on the lower North Peak.
