Comments: Huh, that's funny. I placed the nut before the first bolt and remember saying WOW that is a bomber, textbook, nut placement. Not totally necessary if you climb the grade, but I warmed up on this, so I placed it as it's not simple for the first move of the day. The bolt is close enough to easily stick clip if you don't have the nut and are not feeling it. Great route for starting of the day!!!

Comments: This route now sports 5 brand new Petzl, stainless steel, glue-in bolts. Greg German with my help removed all the old bolts and using the same holes for the new bolts. Can't wait to get on this climb once the white water at the base is gone!

Comments: A link-up would be starting on one climb and finishing on another that is not what this is. This is what I call a classic combo five hard routes in 24 hours. Logistics would definitely be key. Be psyched one day to tick this combo.

I love combos in climbing and canyoneering makes for a killer day!!!

In Escalante, Utah, my friend Aaron Smith and I did this with the Egypt slot canyons Egypt 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 all in 24 hours made for a killer day and had never been done before. At first, we just jo... more >>

Comments: This route is worth bolting just for this photo!
What an amazing looking route when I climbed with Ward Smith at Rumney he was saying it would be cool if someone sent this route barefoot. This route is super high on my radar.

Comments: This route is as good as Undertow or The Shaft. I installed new carabiners, painted the chains on the two chain draws, installed a mussy hook, and fixed carabiner on the anchor, so now you can just clip and lower. Now you only need 13 draws. I found it really helped to put 25cm long draws on bolts four and nine if you want the perfect rope line with no drag. This route is a real gem!

Don't feed wild life it is bad for them and causes them to chew wholes in people's packs.

Comments: I found just having the draw hung was enough to make the clip reasonable. I also assume that the route setter was stick clipping the first bolt or putting in pro before attempting to hang the draw. I felt on the start if you stayed just right of the first two bolts it felt safe and pretty cool. My partner went left at second bolt, and it looked really unpleasant and not as safe. We didn't know it was a mixed climb and did the crack section to the last bolt with no pro, which ... more >>

Comments: How many draws do you clip to the end of this route? Do you just finish at a single draw when you hit Public Enemy? It seemed amazing except for not knowing where people are climbing to to call it 12b. I climbed up the slab for two clips with super long draws then went left one draw past Public Enemy. Then it looked like one more draw which I assume would be the 13c Enjoy Your Youth. What I did seemed super high stars but felt maybe 12a not 12b. Any thoughts??? Reminded me of Orangahang at Rumne... more >>

Comments: I thought the rock on the route sounded a little hollow. Be careful what flakes you put your cams behind. Otherwise it is a great route on par with Pulp Friction and The Waffle, which are other great intermediate climbs at Thunder.

Comments: The first bolt is too low. It should be higher. I think they should have put it higher, and then you could just stick clip it.

Comments: This is the best 12 I've done in Colorado. If I could give it five stars, I would. Hope the Manta Ray flake doesn't break one day. It would be cool if there was a way to secure or somehow bolt it on, but it would also be risky!!!
