Comments: You can wiggle in some small at the bottom so I don't know I'd call it PG13. Definitely awkward & pump to get going though. The technical crux after the traverse is very well protected ... luckily.

Comments: Agree with AC, this is a nice climb but not for the 5.5 leader. The 2nd and last bolt is probably closer to the ground than the top.

Comments: There are two short routes starting from this side. I believe the one described above is the one on the right arete (looking towards the drop off. The other one is about 5.10c and climbs the left side.

Comments: Anyone has a name for the long route to the right (and around the corner) of Nantucket Sleighride? If so, I'll enter a description. It's too good to be called "Unknown". Thanks.

Comments: I climb this route every time in the area. Crux is a leftward traverse between the 1st & 2nd bolt and definitely takes a bit of balance.

Comments: I was suprised also. At least they didn't put the bolts on the actual summit horn. My guess is the perpetrator(s) want to make the climb a no-brainer to get off of .... I might draw some flack here, not being from the BH region, but I'd be talking to guides and guide services that frequent Custer SP.

Comments: Climbed this 9/1/02. There is now a 2 bolt belay about 8 ft left of the summit horn. Still have to sling the horn (double length sling) to protect the 2nd but no need for needles style rap. Really fun. Good exposure at the top.

Comments: Just did this last night. After reading comments above, I think a budding 5.8 leader would want info about the whole pitch, not just the crux. The crux is easy to protect w/ good jams but not so good feet. You could hang your way up the crux if you have to. Getting to the crux flake is what I'd be worried about if I was breaking into 5.8. The section from the belay to about 15-20 feet before the crux is NOT well protected. Also be careful of a well chalked loose jug at a small roof about 40 ft a... more >>

Comments: First ascent: Steve Mestdagh & Chris Haalend, Summer '85. This climb was named in memory of Julie Inwood (of the Boulder Parmakian family). Julie was my girlfriend at the time of her death in Peru earlier that year.
