the shallowest index/middle combo pocket. the contours of this pocket really distribute the shear stress across your skin, which is a big help in preventing your skin getting it's a$$ kicked.

Comments: really nice primarily big hands corner. i was pretty surprised that the traverse crack quickly gets wide. for some reason i assumed it would be fingers, and was a wee bit unprepared.

Comments: 3rd bolt on 1st pitch is still missing. you can get obvious gear, but it isnt optimal. enough to get by, but probably not if you use it (if you know what i mean). great little summit and a nice approach.

Comments: really cool route. i thought the 4th pitch was hard and kind of scary. it looked like you could go out left but the location of the protection would be sub optolimal. it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring the belayer up to this ledge, although the anchor wouldt be as straight forward as the one immediately at the top of the 3rd pitch. for the ledge belay a 4, 3, and the bolt with some macrame would be the ticket.

Comments: ultimate rest day spire. bringing a non climber up here without a rope and a minor plan sounds pretty crazy though.

Comments: Per Matt Pierce: "BEWARE of the multitude of loose chockstones in this thing. Super dirty route as well. Quickly goes from hands to fists to just plain wide. I think we used #2, #3, #4, (2)#5, (2)#6 and a few Big Bro's."

Comments: thanks for the info - i figured there had to be a story behind this route. this thing is awesome. the block is easy to climb around, and the leaning splitter above it is sustained burly big hands. way heavy on #3 camalots and heavy on #2 camalots. the book says it goes to off fingers but the smallest thing i placed was a #1 camalot.
