Comments: Great route! was there when Curtis Glass did the F.A. I did the second ascent and Jerry Roberts did the direct. Do not understand how Mr. Wattford is credited with this vision other than being a guide book author.

Comments: No there is no legal climbing at Cloudland Canyon. Highpoint is not far away, and is a totally different area. However, I and others have put up several routes in Little Mans Gulch, a side canyon outside the park, probably private land.

Comments: If there ever was a need for a new route committee, this fleeting route was destined for rejection! I talked to Mr. Fichesser half way through his approved route trying to explain to him how much his line would infringe on exsisting and future climbs. So if you find yourself scratching your head while trying to figure out what the hell is a bolt doing here, you can thank Mike! "Hanging Gardens" 5.10 is a one pitch route originally done in two. This starts off a large detatched block and is a much better climb done in one pitch, two ropes make it a better lead. Just left at the end of the wall is "Lopper Land" 5.9 a one pitch route up a dirty corner, better and harder than it looks! Short approach an... more >>

Comments: I climbed the route ground up first on aid but never freed it on lead. the falls were punishing! Andrew Mcdowell moved the crux bolt and placed it under the roof for a better fall. He then made quick work of it sending it with no hesitation! Very sweet climb. My hats off to the next generation it has been fun for an old fart like me to pass the torch to such talent!
